V6 or V8

First of all hello to everyone, im going to become a owner in the next few days but first i need your help. Going to look at 2 RR'S this week both the same price....what would you buy. The 1st one is a fully loaded v6hse 07 with only 6k and 18 months warranty, the second is a v8 07 fully loaded with 19k but only 13 months warranty.
To me the v8 seems the best chose... is warranty a major player when buying.

I also think when selling the v8 would be easier to sell.

But i was hoping for your opinion.....both are black on black.

I ran a Sc for a while, I much prefer the TDV8, whilst the initial pick up of the SC is much better it does not have the mid range torque of the TDV8.

Filling up at every petrol station also got a little tedious.

I also think the V6 is under rated, clearly it does not have the umph of the TDV8 but I would not say it's under powered. Perrys For New & Used Range Rover Sports

Get a V6 - performance is fine. You'll do 25% more mpg.

If you want a faster car, buy an X5, X6, Q7 ... or a proper fast car.

RR Sports are for cruisin. The V6 is fine. I've been mad for flipping years, absolutely years, over the edge for yonks.

Believe me the TDv8 is better - on here Josh, Smarticus,VA and myself have run TDv6's since launch until fairly recently. There is nothing wrong with the TDv6, it's far better than the 3litre BMW straight 6 that was in the big Rangie, for smoothness and quietness. The Tdv8 is just so much nicer to drive with superb get up and go and for the extra power and torque you loose very little in fuel economy (in fact some of have found the TDv8 to be more economical on fuel) if you can resist the temptation to play at hot hatches/ boy racers, something you cannot dream of doing in the v6. In two and half years of TDv6 ownership mine averaged 27.9 mpg by spreadsheet calculation and in 15 months so far my TDv8 has averaged 27.8mpg in 15k miles. The TDv8 also makes proper V8 noises whereas the v6 is muted. If the budget can extend to the TDv8 I would go for that. Specs are not hugely different but you get adaptive cruise as standard on the TDv8 which isn't even an option on the TDv6. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Mercury os right, RRS is a cruising car, so speed is not a player but I would still get the V8... Far better choice... Thumbs Up

I love our TDV6 but having not been in a TDV8 I can't really comment.

If you ask me in hindsight which I would go for now, i'd say a TDV8 as the noise and performance is undoubtedly superior. As Tim says, those who have run both are best qualified to answer.

The next Sport we will buy however will be the new 5.0V8 S/C petrol and b Censored ks to the cost of running it Laughing Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
