fuel cap and locking

seems to be some confusion here.. so can someone clarify whether a MY07 RRS fuel cap should lock? immediately? after some time period? the cap, the flap, both or neither?

thanks

There is no lock in the cap.
The flap will lock when you lock the car. Malaysia Boleh!

Yep, the flap is also part of the central locking system, but always locks/unlocks with the drivers door lock, to open just gentlely push the flap in when the driver's door is unlocked and the flap should open. There have been one or two cases reported of them sticking - if this happens there is an emergency release behind the small cut-out section in the right side of the boot IIRC (must re-read the manual as I noticed the last time I fuelled up mine didn't open easily) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

RRSboy, I've no idea is the honest answer - I've never timed it and I never leave the car at the pumps with the keys in it, I always have them in my pocket and then lock the car when I go to pay! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Can anybody tell me where in the manual the emergency release is explained, i had this issue recently and could not find the actual release mechanism or reference in the manual.

Thanks
