ipod cable bodge

Hi

I say 'bodge' as plugging something into the aux is never going to be as classy as the solutions Audi and even F**d have for iPod integration

However......

Im about to click to buy a 3.5 aux input on ebay for my ipod

I havent got as far as working out where the aux is
Its cold
Im knackered
Its raining
And Im just feeling too lazy Smile

Do I need 50cm or a metre length please?

I dont want excess cable flapping round however I would like it to actualy reach

...........you lazy B Censored d Whistle

1 metre length should be fine depending on where your IFlod will be located. I assume you are talking rear aux input, in which case passenger seat or cup holder is ideal locale.

I opted for this in the D3 I had, it worked fine, albeit hardly a premium feeling. Big Cry L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

No I suspect it doesnt charge it although I dont know for sure TBH

However it bypasses the ipods final output/amp stage so Im hoping the battery lasts longer

Have looked in the Apple accessories page Question

I've got a Belkin (mine no longer appears to be available, but there are some newer models) with a built in preamp to boost the volume plugged into the rear power socket and a good quality 3.5 lead connecting that to the Aux socket. So it charges and gives really good sound quality.
Had to experiment with 3.5 leads to get the best. TDV6 - gone

i just bought from halfords a 1m 3.5 lead (£6.99) and a i sound multi purpose charger with usb and mini usb connectors so it will charge i-pod plugged into fron 12v socket (£9.99) this was the cheapest solution and works well
