Same here. I also owned a Disco II and instead of getting me a Disco LR 3 the year it came out, I preferred to wait for the RRS and immediately fell in love with it. If there's a need to transport real huge or dirty things I own a Volkswagen Minivan T5 4motion which has almost twice the cargo room of a D3, and with the VW there's no risk of ruining the car's interior like in a HSE specced Disco. BTW a friend of mine owns a D3 and he's unable to load two standard sized mountainbikes with the saddles in normal position standing upright in the rear, so there's actually not that much more cargo space in a Disco than in an RRS. From the outside the Disco looks like a box but inside it's not, whereas a VW T5 is a box on the inside and the outside, which makes more sense. D3 is too wide and too high to fit through my garage door - RRS will fit, but it's a bit tight with only 5mm on each side with the mirrors folded. Freelander2 is also too wide to get in. RRS is narrower and lower than both.

I had both and at the same time............the D3 felt clumsy against the RRS, but one things for sure.........can you guess what I am predictably going to say........................................................................................

I have been living with a Pikey Wagon on and off for a month now. Ignoring the fact that its a V6 Petrol, I have to say that its an excellent car. Easier access than an RRS, better boot space, MUCH better tailgate arrangement...but while I actually prefer its practicality to the RRS, I am not sure I could live with the boxy looks every day. In white, it looks a bit like a big fridge or washing machine!! Its also a bit "family" for me as its just my wife and I most of the time.
