Angel - I agree - if I actually totalled up what I'd lost on cars in the last 2 years I'd probably end up in tears, sell up and buy something sensible and frugal that would last me for 20 years

100% agree Angel - I buy my cars for the pleasure I get out of them, not for selling. I used to change cars every 9-12 months and also lost fortunes (or rather made somebody else fortunes- normally the bank/ car company loan bank!) In 30 years driving I have only ever owned one car that didn't loose me money but it didn't make me fortunes either and that was the TVR that I owned for a year - sold it for what I paid for it 12 months and 6000 miles later. Must admit that probably the best value holder I have owned has been the Defender unlikely as it might seem. It cost me £10k 7 years ago, it was 6 years old with 56k miles on it when I bought it. It has had a new chassis and been converted from a van to a station wagon and last year I was offered £8k for it. Of course now I'm selling it nobody is offering anywhere near that! C'est la vie - anybody want a neat and tidy Epsom Green 90 County Hard Top with conversion by LR dealer to Station Wagon (it isn't a COUNTY station wagon as it doesn't have the county folding seats in the rear, it has 2 folding bench seats and lap belts for 4 passengers.) Now with 76000 miles. It's a 300Tdi 1996 model year. Comes with a bit of nonstandard added character, because it has been used for what it was intended to be used for by Land Rover. Comes with MOT and Tax for 10 months. Cherished Number plate isn't included in the price but is negotiable. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
