3G Iphone on 3 UK

Anyone on here been successful with using a 3 network SIm in an unlocked IPhone 3G ??

I would of course test it, but I sold mine and only have the 2G version kicking around. Basically want to resort back to the IPhone 3G on my 3 contract, currently using the Nokia E71, but after 2 months have got bored with it now Big Cry

Anyone? Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

can't comment on 3 network but I've unlocked from O2 and had it happily running on Orange for the best part of 2 days now. I do have to warn you that the unlocking software isn't that great at the moment, still a couple of bugs to iron out, and it is a bit of a long winded solution. At the moment i've had a 50 / 50 success rate at managing to unlock the 3G one's - one worked and the other one seemd to load all th software ok but then its killed the wifi connection on the phone. I believe that another soilution should be out very shortly that is a simple 20 second unlock without the need to upload seperate programmes and turn the flight mode on and off, the 3g on and off and all the other things that you need to do to get the yellowsnOw version to work.
Personally i think the Nokia N97 will be the phone to replace the iphone when it launches later this year - touchscreen, 32GB on board memory, 5MP camera and fully qwerty keyboard.

Are you doing the unlock yourself or buying an unlocked one?

I've found that when you first put the sim in the Iphone it can take up to 15 mins for it to actually find the network and log onto it so don't be suprised if you get no signal when you intially turn it on or you just get a message saying searching. Once its found the network (in your case 3) then it seems to be fine even if you turn it off it will come back into service as soon as you turn it back on again.

Thanks for the tip.

I will be doing it myself. I have unlocked many before, but just never had a 3 UK contract before, so was unsure as to whether it will work. I will know for sure in about 2 hours !! Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

After i had jailbroken the phone using winpwn i tried the unlock i found that i couldn't get it to work with the version of yellowsnow i downloaded and installed via cydia. I had to use the version that you can download with the Installer application. I also used the bigboss tools to turn off the 3g and edge connections then reboot using big boss, then i installed the yellowsnow file, the rebooted again using bigboss tools - put the new sim in and then left it for 15 mins to log itself back onto the network - like i said before worked on one phone but not on the other one.
