Starting problems

I am thinking of buying a used (up to 2 years old) RRS TDV6 or BMW X5 3.0d SE.

I expect as I am using this site you will probably tell me to go for the RRS. I have heard that the RRS has a problem with airports. When the car is turned off and restarted a few minutes later (after dropping off passengers), nothing much happens.

I work at a major airport and also need a reliable car, is this fault very common?

Are there any other faults that I should be aware of if I go the RRS route?

Thank you. RRS HSE MY10 coming soon

Someone is pulling your leg. I've not heard of any common starting issues.

Of course we will say get a RRS but it's down to you. Test drive both cars and then make your choice. You'll love the RRS trust me. Speak to one of our site sponsors, there are good deals at the moment. Sponsors Page 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Common sense surely tells you it can't be...it would have been all over the press, watchdog et al, recalls galore!

I'm sure somone has no doubt had that exceptional experience but the power of the internet means they can get blown up into huge issue.

The RRS (and D3 and lots of other modern cars) are very electrically hungry so if parked for weeks (anywhere), can sometimes have battery/starting issues but this isn't an RRS problem and shouldn't affect you commuting to an airport.

Enjoy! Cheers

Simon

Many thanks for the speedy replies.
The re-start was just a few minutes later, not after a holiday break.
It may have been a leg-pull. I have looked all through this site and no one has ever mentioned it before. RRS HSE MY10 coming soon

It has been talked about over on Freel2, something to do with radiowaves not allowing the car the fully shut down IIRC
