Steering wheel options

Hi,

Is there an retro option on the steering wheel, I think I have seen a piano black wood one.....I would really like to change it to something "sportier", and also with a black badge.....

any input?

thanks

Not from LR there isn't but I know the usual suspects do a different steering wheel (Overfinch, Kahn, Revere etc). I think OF do a "carbon fibre" one...

I don't think so, as it's a genuine RRS steering wheel, as the ad says there used to be a big market for replacement P38 wheels but then there was no airbag etc... the only problem I would see here is that it looks like you need to chop in your steering wheel against the relacquered one which might leave your car without a steering wheel for a while.

The seller is OK though, they're known to this forum as the sellers of other RRS customised parts Thumbs Up

Didn't Dadanek post some pics of his modded interior?

If it was Dadanek, it had lots of carbon fibre ( Neutral ) but a really nice wheel Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I can definitely recomend the OF wheel - a lot thicker, and the leather feels to be of far superior quality

And im pretty sure they do one similar to what you are after

I've always dealt with Tom there on +44 (0) 1252 731950

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

There is also a company that I have seen advertising on the American RRS website that Umbertob moderates. They do every style of wood and leather for D3,RRS and FFRR that you can imagine. Cannot remember the URL though! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United States 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Chawton White

Good memory Tim! William Rau is a Los Angeles, CA, company that does beautiful woodwork on LR's steering wheel, shift knob, and other trim. I picked their cherry wood steering wheel and shift knob back when I purchased my 06 HSE to match the rest of the interior, but several other finishes are available and the craftsmanship is just outstanding (with prices to match...) The pieces still look brand new after over 3 years of ownership. See http://www.rangeroverstyle.com/sport.html

Rau will sell you a steering wheel (and shift knob, should you wish to match) at full price, then refund the core exchange fee if/when they receive the original wheel (and knob) back from you. I had the steering wheel and knob replaced by a kid specializing in these swaps, took him 10 minutes to do in front of my house. It was scary to watch. In maybe 20 seconds he had removed the airbag, those things are so easy to steal it's ridiculous! If you want to swap LR oval on the airbag from green to black you'll have to DIY. It's fairly easy, I am pretty sure instructions are on these forum somewhere.

Photos of my steering wheel and knob - back in the days when I used to keep the interior clean...
