Future Values

Guys, just some advice, I'm thinking of going into one of these 50/50 offers on a new TDV8 RRS - just curious, do you think the car will still be worth 50% of it's value after 2 years? I would certainly hope so. Is it realistic to think the car would be worth say £30-33K after the 2 years?? Am looking at a couple of other cars, an SL55, or a Bentley GT - but after leaving the bentley dealers on the weekend - was told they are only carrying minimal stock (only 1 used GT in stock) as they are not buying any more, as values are in freefall, and ceratinly getting worse towards the end of the year.....

Thanks

Nice idea Kaine if petrol wasn't so expensive - with a heavy right foot like mine, and with the miles I do, I'd be looking at spending £800 a month on petrol.....

While you're here Kaine - would you ever go back to an RRS, say if you had to chose between an S5 or an RRS??

Might need to ask Mrs Kaine that question! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

AUDI Dealer called me this morning to confirm they have no more info on either the Q5 or RS5 - nice to have a call, but pretty poor when I ended up sending them details on the Q5 pricing and spec that I'd already got from the tinternet Rolling Eyes

me again

tbh I'd never get a RRS again - I'm now more interested in the FFRR; specifically the replacement FFRR due in a few years

I look at the FFRR a lot too, like the interior obviously, but don't want to jump into the RRS - keep it for 2 years and then have the updated version come out next year and left looking like the kid with the old style trainers on! S5 auto, looks so good, but I honestly think V8 petrol motors could dive in prices seriously in the coming months - have seen 6 Series 645's coming below 20K now......I have been looking at SL55's over the weekend, after having seen one on the road and remembering what an excellent car they are, and they still look stunning in the flesh...especially silver ones, roof down...

What seemed a great idea on the 50/50 offer from RR, seems a little risky now......maybe best just keeping my TDV6 and being happy with my lot.

It would be interesting to see where LR are pitching the GFV on these schemes. They may or may not have a built-in "insurance" component based on what they believe the market will do. It today's market I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that a 55k TDV8 will be worth 30k in two years time.

If in any doubt, stay put with your TDV6.

I am just waiting to hear what the GFV will be on the car - and hoping there is at least 3-4 k left for me to play with. Trade on my 56 (07) car with 18K miles is a measly £28,000 - but this gives me scope to knock something off list - so what would you think on a £55,000 car I could expect? 10% or is that too unrealistic - 5% seems to low, so will try for 7%...and see what they say

I am looking at Santorini black with Ivory leather, and with DVD, Premium Ice and tints/boards - not sure sunroof is worth the extra dosh or not....

GMFV's (Guaranteed Future Values) as of today (28/07/08.) on a 2008.5my TDV8 RR Sport at £54,900 on the road. This is based on the current 0% APP (Advanced Payments Plan) deal on 2008.5my Range Rover Sports registered before the end of September 2008.

6k miles per annum £30518 (55.59%)
9k miles per annum £29718 (54.13%)
12k miles per annum £28968 (52.77%)
15k miles per annum £28243 (51.44%)
18k miles per annum £27518 (50.12%)

Excess mileage is 18p per mile +VAT, meaning £450+VAT per 2500 miles over contract.

**Important** These figures are subject to change, therefore always ask for a written quotation at the point of order / negotiation. Please note that these figures are only correct of today's date.

Thanks for that James Thumbs Up

Would it be unreasonable to expect the car to be worth a couple of K over that, not g'teed of course - that would at least give me £4000 to play with...but anyway my only worry is that I'll have a car with the 'old' interior, as it would be......but if there is a good deal to be had on the TDV*, it would make up for the awful price on my trade in!! Very Happy

Nick, we can show you an 09 interior compared to 08.5 which will demonstrate that the differences are quite subtle.

We will of course look after you with regard to 'the deal'. As far as the resudule value is concerned, it would be impossible for me to predict. What I would say is that one of the options on APP is that you can hand the car back, therfore Land Rover themselves must be under the impression that the GMFV will cover the value of the car as a bare minimum. That is the beauty of a GMFV, in so much that it is the finance company that is taking the gamble not you.

Obviously I appreciate that you were asking if there would be any equity.......

Hope this helps? Thumbs Up
