Thinking of buying a new RRS

Can anyone tell me how long it takes to get a new RRS from order date. I have a Disco 3 and SWMBO wants me to change it for a RRS. It will be 4 years old at the beginning of December so dont want to have to re tax , service or MOT it again, but due to monetary problems cant order it yet so whats the latest date I can.

There does seem to be plenty of stock around... but if wanted to order specifically from the factory, I think it's around 10 weeks. But it is always best to ask your dealer as they may have a nearer "slot" where the order can still change.

Hi Wardpg,

Shmoogle is pretty much spot-on with 10 weeks, although this can be slightly longer with a model year change at present. I can't speak for all dealers, but we would probably take a deposit from you 14 weeks before, order the car, and then hang on to it for a few weeks once it's built. This way you do not suffer from any delays and get the vehicle exactly when you want it.

I would suggest trying to leave at least a months MOT on your Disco, otherwise the dealer may assume you are looking to move it on becuase you have found something which may cause it not to pass it's MOT.

Hope this helps and if you need any assistance then we would be only too pleased to help!

James Thumbs Up

Thanks for that info especially James. I will go and see my dealer after I come back off my hols at end of July should be ok then. I was looking at a full specked TDV8 with RSE so I guess I will not find one of these in stock so it will have to be built to order
cheers everyone

Coincidence or what ! just been rung up by land rover and offered a test drive in a RRS TDV8 so going to Land rover experience at Skipton in August. This will be my 3rd visit there. They used to give you a free 1/2 day when you bought a new car so the last 2 Discos i bought entitled me to a free do. Any one who hasn't been on one of these days should try it its a brilliant few hours doing something that you would not do in your own car!!

A few of us from the forum did the whole LRE at the factory. Tour in the morning watching Sports being built from scratch, then systematically 'Un-building' them on the off road course in the afternoon Laughing
