Per the thread here I've gone for the Parrot 3200 - get it installed next Tuesday. I've seen in it in operation and it looks very good. That's just my opinion though FWIW.

Your S/C is not a UK spec car then AJSG as all UK S/C's came with voice activation, B/T, a cradle under the centre fridge................................... there were only 2 spec levels for the S/C here - Plain S/C in HSE spec + some other extras as standard and The Fist Edition and both had the phone cradle and B/T connectivity according to my brochures from the launch to date. The only other thing it might be is a pre-production car that escaped the crusher somehow 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Is there some other way I can check its origin? From the VIN number for example? I'd ask the dealer but I think he has enough trouble with shoelaces...

Well, the VIN number detailing is here but it doesn't necessarily tell you which market it was bound for (I don't think anyway).... the best way is to get (any) dealer to confirm. They all have access to the same data.

Date of first reg is 24/03/2005 and the VIN number has one issue, in the engine identifier it says "3" rather than 1, 4, or 5...but apart from that there is no other discrepancy. In the Reg Doc it states Variant AA3 Version 023 in case that means anything to you.

I can't say it does.... but you do have one of the first RRSs to roll out of the factory and it's been shown here on a few occasions that the very early ones had their issues. You could always try another dealer, they're not all bad

I'm not enjoying the main dealer experience with a number of people, my wife's previous car was bought from one of the most well known dealers in the UK and they really messed things up when the brakes failed. They also sold me this RRS without telling me of its origin (maybe they didn't know, is that possible?).

With a first registration date of 24/03/2005 it is one of the very early production cars - I think VA's and my TDv6's were also from around that date for production rather than registration. I wonder if you have one of the launch specials used by the press or for dealer evaluation rather than a "production" car.

Hmm, bad luck but as I say, there ARE good dealers even though you do hear a lot of horror stories out there.
