New Exhaust

Just had this fitted today by JE Engineering in Coventry. I went over this morning at 9.30am and all done by 11.30. inc fitting & Vat cost me £500 Sad but well worth it - The ovals really set the rear of the car off far better than the poxy original equipment.

Looks much better that the standard SC pipes... very nice. I asked MDP about uploading a sound file in another thread.... let's hope it sounds as good as it looks!

any differences with this exhaust setup?
louder? any raspy sound?

and, most importantly...

any noticible change in throttle response?

I see we're all still waiting for MDP to reply, perhaps he's out listening to his new exhaust!

I'd doubt there will be much difference in responsiveness as the tips do not have the biggest effect on the back pressure of the exhaust system, this is done by the manifolds, main downpipes and CATs. The tips serve the audio requirement more, that's why Chav boys in crappy Maxed up Escorts and Nova buy big cherry bomb exhausts to make their car sound bigger, faster and louder, despite the fact they are still running a 1.1 litre engine and doing 15mph! L319 D4 HSE

hmm...
and here i thought this was a complete cat-back system that was installed, and not a simple axle-back swap. Rolling Eyes

Yuhoooo everyone Smile

I'm back... ( took a while to sober up after big weekend in Edinburgh ) Crying or Very sad

With regard to the Exhaust - it is all new from approx half way along ( post cat back ) . The reason I did'nt have the full system was due to Jonathon at JE ENgineering suggesting I wait as they are developing a much bett CAT for the Supercharged and I could add this at a later stage Very Happy As it stands now it does sound great and I will endeavour to get round to uploading a sound file ASAP - promise Wink

Ps. Biggles - why do you want/need a photo of my outside edge/tyre Confused

They are standard 275/40 Conti's sport contacts. but I am happy to oblige if necessary.
