If I remember, mine came with Wranglers from the factory and I then swapped onto Contis (because they were available and the Wranglers weren't) then went to Pirelli Scorpions I think. All that in 26k....

Crumbs S, when mine went into Charles Hurst's after 21000 miles there was still 6mm minimum all round on the original Contis- that's even after it had been offroad. You must have been doing track days or lending your car to J Clarkson or the Stig to do wheelies in it to have got through all that rubber. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sportman - miles not km, we don't do that metric stuff here Wink

Tim, I know mate.... I was always shocked that it went through tyres like it did. Granted I did used to throw it about a fair bit but even so... I suppose 2.7t + a hooligan at the wheel doesn't really work Laughing

One thing I do find with the Pirellis that the TDv8 has on it are that it feels much more "stuck to the road" than the
TDv6 did on it's Continentals, especially in the wet. It maybe because the Tdv6 rode on 18" wheels/tyres and the v8 is on 20's and there is all that extra rubber in contact with the road. I have also now got a set of Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow tyres for the winter and will be swapping over to them at the end of the week in time for all the frost and snow we are going to have this winter! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Didn't think of that, but I doubt DR makes much difference on motorways and fast A roads awash with rain S, only when going round bends and offroad if my understanding of it's operation is correct. DR is basically computer controlled ,hydraulically operated and disengagable antiroll bars or is that the Active Roll Mitigation? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
