Cambelt / Timing Belt Replacement

Assuming the 2.7 diesel is not chain driven, whats the service interval for the belts?

Thanks

Cam belt/s change is required at 7 yrs or 105,000m ,(whichever comes first) it's quite difficult access I believe, particularly the rear belt, so will probably cost loads on labour, come the time, if we still have our TDV6's then. Rolling Eyes

The book says you must remove the engine to replasce the belt giving a dealer time of 12 hours labour (i think). Some enterprising dealers have discovered that it's quicker to remove the body from the chassis (around 8 hours)
I was chatting to a garage owner in Leeds a few months ago who can do them without removing the body but with the aid of a mirror!!!
The clearance seems non existent between the rear of the engine and the bulkhead. It took him 3 hours.

This is the one job that frightens the **** out of me. This is going to cost big bucks.

No timing belt on the TDV8 though. The camshafts are chain and gear driven. Thumbs Up Gone - 2008 TDV8, Stornoway Grey, ebony, zabrano trim, TV, Tasmods, mudflaps.
