Kerbed it!!!

Bl**dy wheels!

An ambulance came up behind and the stupid driver in front simply stopped. There was not enough room for the ambulance to pass so I was forced to climb the kerb and have destroyed (cosmetically speaking) the front passenger alloy. Why cant an off-road rated vehicle climb a 6" kerb!.

Anyone got a 19" Alloy (2007 HSE) for sale?? - or perhaps a complete set as it looks like I will need them. I have had cars with alloy wheels since J reg and never damaged one - including a Terrano and Discovery which were both off-roaded.

Martin

P.S Has anyone used the services of companies such as Wicked Wheels - www.wickedwheels.co.uk ?? 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

Same happened to me with a roadside flint embedded in a bank - also cut the tyre sidewall (not right through..) and ruined the wheel balance, causing so much vibration that rear headrests were shaking from side to side!

Have you checked your spare? I believe with 19's you should have a full-size matching spare (I have) - just check that the directional tyre is on the right way round (mine wasn't) or a trip to Kwik-fit for a fit and balance (£8.50 - bargain!) may be all that you need for now! http://www.black-code.co.uk

I believe I have a full size matching spare as that is what it is was advertised as having - but will not know til later tonight. I understand some people have discovered the "matching" spare to be a different design.

I cannot really blame the Ambulance service, it was my choice to hit the kerb forced by the driver in front stopping dead and not carrying on driving to get to a suitably wide passing point. I do not understand why people simply stop when often the best choice is to keep on going until it is safe/simple to let the ambulance pass. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

It is a Goodyear 255x50x19 R rated and it still has its little nobbles on it, its never been fitted

The reason i have it is because i fitted a set of Stormers, then Kerbed one quite badly Evil or Very Mad on a raised man hole cover, so i bought a new one and i now use the damaged stormer as my spare Thumbs Up some of my Previous cars

I'm telling you different! Why not buy a whole set of wheels and tyres from ebay for about £500 and then sell the spares that you don't need- I know of one customer Envoy! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Sheeet, sorry to hear that. As far as wicked wheels goes they're fantastic. I think they charge £75 a wheel IIRC, we've used them now a couple of times before. Honestly if your not going to buy use these guys. Michael Potter

Agreed - WW excellent. When I was getting rid of my RRS I had them tidy up the front two alloys that had been kerbed. £60+VAT a pop.
