Land Rover Allegiance

I have noticed that some dealers offer the Land Rover Allegiance promo to cars over 3 years old. One of the benefits is reduced labour - typical you spend a small fortune on a new car yet they don't offer new owners much of a discount unless you ask. I see this as proof that LR dealers over charge for their work. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

My Defender is now 11 years old and there is no way, even under the allegance scheme, that I would pay the local main dealer to look after it, no matter how good I think they are. Even if they reduced their labour and parts prices by 50% the local non franchise specialists (there are 3 of them within an hour's drive of the main dealer) would still be cheaper and they all use genuine LR parts. They all charge in the region of £28 per hour labour and even with Allegiance Morrisons charge in excess of £100 p/h. LR Dealers have been offering Allegiance for quite a few years now and it is just another way to lighten the owners pocket and lining the dealer's 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Best way to find out where to have work done on any Land Rover product outwith it's warranty/the LR dealer network is to spend £20 a year on membership of any of the Land Rover Owners Clubs and then you will soon find out who has a good reputation and who hasn't just by asking other members. All three of the local specialist are also office bearers of the Scottish Land Rover Owners Club and having a poor reputation for prices or workmanship would soon see them off the scene. It is very easy to recover your club membership with the discounts clubs usually get from the local non-franchise specialists, especially if you buy lots of accessories and get servicing done 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
