Updated - now diagnosed as splt inlet Manifold

Driving home tonight, lovely 55 mins of the usual joy, then 5 mins from home, car lurched, a big 'bong' followed by restricted performance and RR now sounding like a tractor Big Cry

Limped home and took the below video;

It's a MY15 L394 RRS Autobiography, only got it in January and it came with 6m warranty.

Will get RAC to take it back to the garage tomorrow.

Thoughts appreciated Thumbs Up Iggy/Ieuan

I don’t think it’s terminal. Best bet is to get the codes read and have somebody put eyes on it. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

I had once a similar (very alarming!) noise and symptoms; it turned out to be a 'fuel injector' - service was about eur 400 altogether.. 🤞

Sounds very much like a fuel injector copper washer leaking, quite common and an easy and cheap fix!!

Thanks all!

Hoping it does turn out to be so, RAC coming in the morning and then get it back to the garage. Will update tomorrow Thumbs Up

Update:
It's gone, RAC sent a recovery truck, but he also thinks it's injectors

Now have a Range Rover shaped hole on the drive Laughing Iggy/Ieuan

Update, it wasn't the injectors, huge split/hole in the inlet manifold, so needs a new manifold, which is on order, hopefully will get it back next week.

And all under warranty

Cheers Iggy/Ieuan

Maybe worth asking them while it's apart to do the other manifold too, it's not much more labour to do the 2. Would make sense to pay a small contribution now and not have to worry about the other side failing in the future as they are a common weak point up until 2016 model year when the manifolds were revised .

That’s good news for you as in my warranty small print the manifold isn’t covered. Just hope mine doesn’t fail……
