Ventureshield paint protection film , Anyone got it?

Morning all,

My motor is suffering from the unavoidable stone chips at the sharp end.

I understand Josh had venture shield on his RRS which did the jo nicely of avoiding a front end respray.

My questions??
Who has it?
Is it worth it?
Can I apply it myself?
Any dealer recommendations ?
Any alternatives?
What should i pay for it?

Lots of questions I know , Thanks in advance.

Mart Thumbs Up

Ask RRUK - he had it on his Supercharged. Looked discreet and did the job. Do a search - plenty of info and pics on here somewhere

You can apply it yourself, Halfords sell the 3M (might even be the same stuff!) equivalent and you can buy the kits online (google venture shield tape) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

The official Venture Shield installer I used is a friend of mine based near Dunstable. I can put you in touch if you wish or if you go through the main agents web site they will get the nearest installer to you to make contact.

Not sure of the cost but cicra £800 won't be far off with a lifetime guarantee.

I'll be doing it again soon. TDV6 - gone

And I'd say it's worth getting someone to do it, rather than attempt it yourself... could get in a bit of state otherwise.

They advise that cars should be done by an installer for that very reason. MBikes can be done by yourself as smaller panels. Last time I had mine done they had the car all day so I wouldn't like to try it myself TDV6 - gone

I watched mine being done and would not attempt it myself. The bonnet piece took 4 attempts i.e. they scrapped 4 templates doing it.

I think it was worth it, of course, I never had it taken off to see what the paint was like underneath. I did get a bit tired of 'uneducated' people pointing at it and saying 'you car's scratched'....

I'm not convinced I'd do it again, especially at what it costs.

PS: I got mine done completely FOC! Thumbs Up L319 D4 HSE

Thanks chaps,

great info. I'm probably not confident enough to have a go at it myself.

One of my neighbours works for Hertz rental cars. They are looking at a deal whereby all their hire cars in the UK will have it fitted.
He is negotiating with a local firm (never heard of them before but can't remember the name).

THis will be a massive contract for the protection film giving him VERY low prices.

I mentioned the possibility of a forum type discount "piggybacking" on his special price.

I will talk to him again soon about it and see how cheap it will work out at.

He has been quoted £200 per car for total front end and rear bumper...

I will keep us all informed.

Mart
