You can pull the centre piece off, it's held together with a few clips. You can then access and switch the button

You don't need any special tools for this, I didn't even use a screwdriver. I found it easiest to start at the drivers side as the rim sticks out a bit at the dials so you can grab it there and give it a good pull. If you have never done this before, it will make some creepy noises though, but the trim will come loose fine. At the passenger side you need to open the little storage lid for better access.

If you try and lever out just the switch using screwdriver you will damage the trim unless very lucky, open glove box lid grip panel and gently pull and work towards steering wheel, there are either six or eight clips can't remember. Do not pull too hard as there are the electrical plugs for the clock etc. behind and there is not a lot off excess wire. you can then remove switch. There is a strong possibility a couple of the clips will fly off in to oblivion never to be seen again.

There is a plug with Four Wires in it which plugs on to the rear of the switch, I would imagine you would need to remove the plug from the harness and connect wires to new switch unless you are lucky enough to have a switch with the same connector on it, If not you will probably need wiring diagram to work out which wires do what unless one is supplied with switch.
