Both rear lights stolen - LR would not provide courtesy car

As the name states, both lights stolen. Contacted LR, the vehicle will be recovered tomorrow but no courtesy car will be provided with the following reason: the lights NOT BROKEN, but stolen... OMFG. The lights are designed so poorly that they can be stolen so easily with no damage to the vehicle whatsoever, and they would not provide the courtesy car. Censored Vadim A.

I would have thought that it would be an insurance issue. We know there is an issue but LR are refusing to acknowledge it. Needs a fistful of owners to start making noises at LR for them to design and supply a resolution. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

After all a resolution would not cost LR a fortune and even if it did they can well afford it .

Since the stylists have discovered that funny shapes can be made with LEDs every light now has LEDs. That and the insistence on making light units include all lamp operations has jacked the price into the stratosphere.

Expensive light units and the anonymous Ebay route to the buyers encourages the thieves. Light units don't need to be so expensive. making 'em simpler and cheaper might help by reducing the temptation.

Perhaps we could get them wired into the alarm.

Don't see why LR should provide a vehicle. This is theft and thus a car insurance problem. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

This is a design flaw and is being exploited by Censored just like the winch Evil or Very Mad

Very poor service from Lr as it is them and the thieving Censored to blame - not you for forking out £1000's for a vehicle with the security of a toy car Banging Head

LR should be all over this and supplying a security kit or a recall but I guess every time they sell another set of lights or a winch/spare wheel it helps boost profits a bit more Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

To be honest LR are not the only car manufacturer to parts stolen off their cars. The seats on RS4 were stolen on a regular basis and there are not that many on the road also the cost of replacement if you could have got the seats were in the region of £9000.00 which would mean that the insurance company would be looking at writing the car off. I don't think cutting off their dangly bits would help but cutting off their hands might. Siberianfox that is quite a sexist remark it may be the Censored are actually girls Rolling with laughter
