The Ctek is fine for lead calcium batteries, but I don't think you can charge through the power outlet. Porsche Cayenne S Diesel 66 Plate |

Thanks for the quick replies - car is now connected and charging with the clip-on cables on the battery and seems to be doing it's thing ok.

The aux sockets are switched off without key.

And remember the battery is covered under warranty if you do have 'problems'.... |

Update below for anyone interested. Have now had my CTEK charger connected to my RRS by local LR dealer so it's probably the most sensible way of doing it. CTEK charges with clip-on leads, or more sensibly with a pigtail lead that you screw onto the battery terminals and leave there to connect onto - this has no spark risk and is tidier, and what I normally use on other cars. Pic below shows RRS battery box (under plastic cover under bonnet) - green arrows show location of positive and negative terminal attachment points for pigtail, and blue arrow shows other end of pigtail where charger attaches. Whole thing sits nicely under battery box lid and makes attach/detach of charger safe and simple.
