I can remember when we lived in Calshot near Southampton our neighbour who was an architect named his 3 children with totaly bizaar names, but what I realy remember him for was buying a boat of ebay. The boat was located on the Isle of Wight, he thought it would be no problem to sale it from Cowes over to Calshot (with the kids on board). The guy had no experience of sailing what so ever, as you can imagine it all went very wrong and he ended up in the shipping lane causing a major incident, fortunatley for him the Calshot lifeboat got to him before something much bigger ran him down, there are some real nutters out there!!! Speed Limits! not where I live!

My son told me a story that a teacher was asking his class for all the classes first names. When this teacher ask Box he obviously replies 'Box' The teacher then spent a minute telling said child that only real names are acceptable etc.etc. The child obviously sat their rather smugly and the teacher asked again only to get the same answer. The teacher realising that something might be up thinking he might have misheard the boy asked the boy to spell his name. B O X replied the boy followed by a class falling off their chairs in laughter! WINNER - 2008 Outstanding Contribution

It won't be the first time he has to explain that. There's a guy here who's first name is Plympton (as in the place in Devon)... and the amount of times people say "...and your first name is?" The story goes that he was conceived there, so his pretentious parents thought it would make a good name. The ironic thing is that his surname is Smith |

Scooter is a weird name too, but it seems to be quite a common name in the USA. I wonder if it goes back to the days when the US Immigration officers at Ellis Island couldn't spell most of the names of immigrants from Eastern Europe so put on the documentation what they thought the person was saying................... A Carbon Footprint is the mark a lump of coal makes when it's dropped on the ground.
