Low Power Mode

Always comes on when i have my Ipod connected, my first thought it was because the battery was a little low, but i had just been on a long run. Is this some sort of precautionary measure for the battery.

Hmm, a fault somewhere. As VA said, you're only meant to get low power mode if you sit with the radio on for some time after switching the engine off - you notice the volume decrease and another period after that, the radio will actually switch itself off. It's a battery saving measure as you rightly point out.

if the battery is approaching the end of its life, it won't hold charge. However, this is usually accompained by other signs like random warnings e.g. transmission warning etc, so maybe not the case here.
